Things seem to have died down around this board. I thought I would check in nearly 2 years since my last post in this thread that I started. I eventually got down to a low of 189 or so making a total of a 54 pound loss. That was in December 2008. Since that low, I have gradually crept up to around 200 again plus or minus a couple of pounds as of last week. I have increased my fitness over that time working out 5 times a week on mainly cardio stuff like jogging and elliptical, which kept me around 195. But I got injured in April 2010 which kicked me up to just over 200 pounds, so I'm back to trying to get back down to around 190 again by using this diet that has served me so well, although I do tend to do substitutions (protein for protein and carb for carb) while keeping each meal fairly small in size which still adds up to around 1000 to 1400 calories a day for me. I also signed up for a fitness center membership and enjoy the variety of things I can do now in place of just jogging or elliptical.
This whole experience has given me a new outlook on eating and fitness. Yes, I do splurge from time to time sometimes by quite a bit. But overall I try to eat sensibly and I actually enjoy working out now. Life is better than when I weighed 243 and didn't do anything regarding my health. And that's the point, isn't it?
